Agra, being historical city is located 200 km of New Delhi alongside the river of Yamuna. Three centuries ago, it was the most important city of Northern India and powerful Mughal capital. It was the age of creation of eternal architectural wonders; the great Agra Fort, amazing Tajmahal and the extensive city of Sikandara which was a complete city by itself. Agra Fort is built in red sand stone and after Taj Mahal it is one of the most famous sights in Agra. The architecture is semi circle and was started by Emperor Akbar in 1565 and completed in 1574. Taj Mahal is one of the seventh wonder in world and also most photographed monument in the world. Built by white Makrana marble from Rajasthan, this beautiful and huge fortress is located on the of Yamuna river. It is built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in the memory of his wife Begum Mumtaz Mahal. Taj Mahal is the symbol of the eternal love of the emperor for his beloved wife. Fatehpur Sinkri was built by Emperor Akbar and dedicated to famous saint. It is built completely by red sand stone and it is located 40 km from Agra. Fatehpur Sinkri city was constructed in 1571. Other visiting place is Diwane –i-Aam and Diwane-i- Khas, Salim Chishti’s tomb, Queen’s palaces and Jama Masjid.Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is a famous bird sanctuary in India , it accommodates 375 species of birds. It is around 120 kms from Delhi and just 17 kms from Fatehpur Sinkri.You will find here lush greenery, serene water, comfortable lodges and much more. It was once the royal hunting place of the princely state of Bharatpur. It is spread over 30 kms and Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary is one of the finest and renowned water bird sanctuary in India.
